Tips for decorating your Juwel Aquarium
October 14, 2009 by JustJuwel
One of the best rewards of setting up an aquarium is recreating a watery world that mimics the real thing. It does not mater if you are into fresh water fish keeping or would rather have a marine or salt water tank; the real deal is to bring a semblance of the underwater world right there in your home or office space or wherever else you want to set up an aquarium or two.
Fortunately enough, Juwel Aquariums provide compact tanks that are not only very easy to maintain, but give you the liberty to recreate oceanic rock backdrops, deep water stone backgrounds and even shallow water settings that should be perfect for fresh water pets. If you are trying to find ways on how to successfully set up your Juwel Aquarium(s), here are a few tips you might want to use.
1. Use Motive Background Rock 450. This three-dimensional backdrop is excellent for aquariums that recreate ocean floors and caves. The product’s dark coloration can help offset the vibrant colors of your aquatic fishes and may even provide a measure of security for your nocturnal water dwelling pets. The Motive Background Rock 450 can easily be tailor fitted to the dimensions of any Juwel Aquarium, fits flush against the back wall without trapping air pockets and may work best with High-Lite® Blue or the High-Lite® Colour lighting systems.
2. Use Motive Background Stone. This three dimensional backdrop is available in three different shades: Stone Granite (deep blue gray,) Stone Lime (light earth brown,) and Stone Clay (almost reddish in shade.) These could easily be set up as the environs for shallow reef / coral dwellers or for salt water dwelling pets that prefer to move about in underwater foliage. For such aquariums, the best lighting system would be High-Lite® Nature or High-Lite® Marine.
3. Use Motive Background Root 600. Again, it’s three dimensional design is attractive in itself, being able to mimic the possible view of a submerged adult tree root system. This works particularly well for fresh water setups, and can be successfully mixed with a whole range of underwater foliage. For this, you might want to use a combination of High-Lite® Colour, High-Lite® Nature and High-Lite® Day lighting systems, depending on the aquatic pets you intend to keep.
4. Use STR 450 for a more structured bark like background. Available in deepest shade of green, this backdrop is excellent especially if you want to recreate an underwater cave or perhaps a shaded area of a shallower aquatic environ. This works particularly well if you prefer to install a rather good number of aquatic foliage and bottom dwelling fishes and crustaceans. High-Lite® Blue, High-Lite® Nature and High-Lite® Colour might work best here.
5. You might also want to include Terrace Rock A and Terrace Rock B, both of which are interlocking rock like formations measuring 35 cm x 15 cm each. These can be used singly, in combination with each other, or in combination with any of the four previously mentioned Juwel Aquarium backgrounds.
6. Or, if you would rather have a clear interior aquarium space, there is always that line of Juwel Aquariums posters: printed backdrops that you can install just outside the back wall of the tank.
